VCIH Herbal Residency Program – 2016 | Advanced Clinical Education Opportunity

Posted April 29th, 2016 by VCIH

Netta Mae WalshThe Herbal Residency Program is an exciting new model being piloted at Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism this year. This program will offer recent graduates of the Clinical Herbalist training program the opportunity to practice out of the sliding-scale professional herbal clinic, while receiving ongoing mentorship from a senior practitioner. This paid clinical position includes administrative support, privileges in VCIH’s extensive apothecary, and participation in professional clinic round table discussions. While the Resident will work independently, they will also have the benefit of weekly, one-on-one case review and guidance from a senior herbalist.

In exchange, the Resident will work as an assistant to one of VCIH’s directors, providing research and administrative support to the organization. This is an incredible opportunity for recent grads to gain more experience working with clients in a supportive environment, learn the ins and outs of a successful herbal practice, and gain insight into non-profit leadership and herbal education.

As this program is still in its pilot stage, we are starting out with one Resident at this time. We are proud to announce that Netta Mae Walsh will be joining the VCIH staff as this year’s Herbal Resident.
