Growing Your Herb Garden: From Seed to Reality

March is seed catalog and seed starting season. If you already have an herb or vegetable garden, why not add variety this year. If you don’t already have an herb garden you will be amazed this year at how much herbal medicine, beauty and personal gratification can be grown in a small plot or by container gardening. Get ideas on which medicinal plants to grow, from the staples of a Northeastern medicine garden to the cleverer additions, with an emphasis on the plants that impress.
Many resources for medicinal herb seeds and plants will be shared.
Heather Irvine is 2009 VCIH graduate and a 2004 graduate of the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine. She has a small herbal product business, Giving Tree Botanicals as well as a small herbal practice in Burlington. She enjoys collecting medicinal plants and the stories behind them.
